Lee, many thanks for your help this morning -- I truly appreciate it. After spending the last three days simply trying to network two computers together on a WinXP Pro peer-to-peer network, I knew there was something wrong with my primary LAN computer due to the error message coming up. After consulting two other network specialists in my town and talking for 2.5 hours yesterday with a Microsoft WinXP technician, none of them could help. Heck, the Microsoft guy didn't even have the ability to think of some of the ideas you used this morning to fix the problem.
With what the other "trained" technicians could not fix these past three days, I am convinced that I still would be wrestling with the "hidden" IRP Stack Size registry bug that prevented the network from operating if you had not helped me this morning.
